Controling the spread of mosquitoes

As the rainy season gets underway, a reminder from the Mosquito Research and Control Unit: the public has a role to play in combating the spread of mosquitoes.

The Mosquito Research and Control Unit says residents should do a weekly walk-through of their yards to dispose of any standing water.

These include pots, children’s toys, tarpaulins, and various other items — all of which can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
