CUC looking to expand grid

As Cayman’s economy grows, the energy grid has to match. Right now, CUC is looking at expanding its energy storage capacity and has issued a ‘Certificate of Need’ to OfReg.

CUC is currently renting generators as they work to have a finalized solution. CUC says in 2025, customers have experiencdd 23 minutes of power outages so far, which shows how reliable the grid currently is.
