Governor allays fears over US action in the region
Governor Jane Owen says the Cayman Islands Government will continue to closely monitor developments in the region, as she issued a statement regarding the escalation of tensions.
Governor Owen said the Cayman Islands is safe and that the jurisdiction will act in line with the United Kingdom’s commitment to upholding international law.

Governor: Cayman safe despite fears over US action in Venezuela
Governor Jane Owen has assured Cayman residents and tourists that the Islands remain “safe and secure” despite US intervention in Venezuela to topple president Nicolás Maduro.
Owen said on 5 Jan. that she had been in talks with Premier André Ebanks and also updated the Cabinet.
“I wish to reassure residents and visitors that the Cayman Islands continue to be safe and secure,” she said in a press statement issued early Monday evening.
