NDC says vaping will surpass alcohol consumption

The National Drug Council says vaping will surpass alcohol as the substance of choice for Cayman’s youth.

The student drug use survey has been in existence since 1998, and vaping was introduced into the survey in 2014.

HSA pulmonologist Dr Deepak Muthreja says there is a new term for damage derived from vaping called Vaping Use-Associated Lung Injury.

He explains that young people who vape while their bodies are still developing may suffer cognitive problems, including nicotine dependency.
