Sir Alden McLaughlin and Kenneth Bryan join real estate company
Sir Alden McLaughlin, who has previously served as premier and speaker of Parliament, and Kenneth Bryan, the current deputy opposition leader, have both joined real estate firm Century 21.
The company on Saturday issued a press release announcing the addition of McLaughlin to its team.
Bryan confirmed to the Compass that he is taking up a “part-time” job at the agency.
McLaughlin told the Compass he had “enjoyed being unemployed for the past four months, but it’s not in my nature to be idle”.
He added, “I’ve worked continuously for 48 years, starting when I was 16. I worked throughout A Levels and then throughout law school. I like to work.

Event planned to attract Caymanians to the tourism industry
Government and the tourism industry will hold an event aimed at connecting unemployed Caymanians with job opportunities in the industry amid a backdrop of calls to increase local employment.
Details of the event, organised by Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) and the Ministry of Caymanian Employment and Immigration with the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, are still being finalised, but it is understood to be taking place on the weekend of 6 Sept. at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort.
