The DEH kicks off its Natural Christmas Tree Recycling Programme
The Department of Environmental Health has once again launched its natural Christmas Tree recycling programme through January 26th, to help residents give their Christmas tree a second life.
Collected trees are processed and re-purposed for mulching and to support broader waste reduction efforts across the islands.

Spring opening planned for ONE | GT as final inspections get underway
Cayman’s newest hotel, ONE | GT, has pushed back its planned opening date but says that it is now on track to open by mid-spring this year.
Commercial director Bram Theeven said that the hotel had originally hoped to open by the end of last year, but progress has been delayed due to timings over crucial hotel inspections.
“We would have hoped to have got there by the end of December, but we’re now looking good for a Certificate of Occupancy by the end of February which is very promising,” he said. “That means we can do the handover to our buyers so that they can start moving in and then do all final hotel inspections and get our entire hospitality team in place and trained up.”
