Government gives $600,000 to The Pines for independent living apartments
Plans by The Pines Retirement Home to provide 12 independent living apartments for older people in the community have been given a boost by a $600,000 government grant.
The funds for the Silver Thatch Residences were approved by Cabinet through the Ministry of Social Development and Innovation and announced by Premier André Ebanks on a New Year’s Eve visit to the home.
The Pines is a non-profit charitable organisation that provides ongoing residential nursing care to the elderly, a need which has been evolving over the years with increasing demand for services.
