Langevin Departs as Ritz-Carlton GM
Marc Langevin, who was part of the opening team at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, in 2005 and has led the resort as general manager since 2011, has departed the company.
His exit follows reports of an investigation into an alleged fraud within the resort’s purchasing department. There is no indication of any wrongdoing on Langevin’s part.
Considered a prominent voice in Cayman’s tourism industry, Langevin also served as president of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) and was a key advocate for the safe reopening of Cayman’s borders following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Langevin departs as Ritz-Carlton GM
Marc Langevin, who was on the opening team of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman in 2005 and returned as the general manager of Cayman’s then only five-star resort in June 2011, left the company on Monday, 13 Oct.
His departure occurs amid reports of a probe into an alleged long-term fraud involving a substantial amount of money occurring in the resort’s purchasing department. A source with knowledge of the situation said a third-party supplier in the food and beverage industry is also involved in the alleged fraud. There is no indication that Langevin was personally involved in any fraudulent activities.
Communications from Ritz-Carlton leadership to stakeholders announcing Langevin’s departure on Monday afternoon, praised the former general manager. “We are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and the many contributions during his time and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
“He has been a guiding force, a mentor, and a steady hand through our challenges and triumphs. His commitment to excellence, his care for our team and the local community, and his passion for hospitality have left a lasting mark on our culture and our success.”
