Caymanian student shares experience from Florida State shooting
Caymanian national track athlete Jaden Francis is safe after a mass shooting hit her university in Florida on Thursday afternoon. In an interview with Compass TV, she detailed her experience of being on campus during the mass shooting at Florida State University.
AP News reported that the accused shooter, the 20-year-old son of a sheriff’s deputy, had opened fire on Thursday using his mother’s former service weapon, killing two people and wounding at least six others, according to investigators. The Tallahassee Police Department said one person had been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
Francis was in class when the shooting happened and heard sirens outside the building. That’s when she saw alerts that there was an active shooting across the way from her classroom.
