Appearing on Forefront, Minister for Economic Development and Finance Hon. Rolston Anglin said there was an increase in the number of people renewing their driver’s licences and finalising property deals before the new fees were introduced. Mr Anglin added that the fee increases are targeted at areas of the Cayman economy that would not drive up the cost of living.
The Grand Old House’s ocean-view deck was revamped earlier today to accommodate the Southpaw Series 1 fight night – a boxing event promotor Ryan Barrett dreamed into reality.
Some 40 donors turned up at the Compass Media car park earlier today to take part in the community blood drive challenge. They were encouraged to support their favourite Compass radio station while rolling up their sleeves to give blood.

Marriott beach could be back by September
Tourists could be stretching out on a broad swathe of sandy beach in front of the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort by the next high season after efforts to restore the eroded shoreline moved a step closer.
Government has now approved a permit fee waiver, with an estimated value close to $1 million, and sand is expected to be shipped to the island in the coming months.
The resort says work is likely to begin in May and will be completed within three months, in time for the winter tourism season.
