Cayman green iguana cull closes in on 1.8 million
Almost 1.8 million invasive green iguanas have been culled in Grand Cayman since a programme to control their population began eight years ago.
Department of Environment deputy director Tim Austin told Compass TV’s Daybreak on Tuesday, 1 September, that around 48,000 iguanas have been culled so far this year, with officials hoping that figure could reach 100,000 by year-end.
