Motorcyclists seriously injured in crash with police vehicle
Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a motorcycle and a police vehicle in Bodden Town early in the morning on 13 Sept.
Police say the incident happened just before 2am, when a marked RCIPS vehicle was heading west along Bodden Town Road, responding to an emergency call. At the same time, a motorcycle carrying both a rider and a pillion passenger was travelling east in the opposite lane.
According to investigators, the motorcycle appeared to veer into oncoming traffic and struck the right side of the police vehicle. The impact forced the police car off the road and into a ditch. Both the rider and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. They were taken by ambulance to hospital, where they are now receiving treatment.
