West Bay man charged in 2022 toddler death
After nearly three years, a man has been charged with murder in the Alissady Powell case.
On 26 July 2022, the two-year-old’s body was found on the iron shore in Cayman Brac.
The initial cause of death was believed to be drowning, but a forensic expert hired by the child’s family later concluded it was a homicide.
In December last year, police arrested three people on suspicion of murder, child neglect/cruelty, and accessory after the fact.
Today, police confirmed that one of the three arrested has now been formally charged with murder and abduction.
